Ingredients
- 2 tbsps vegetable oil
- 4 garlic cloves
- 2 bird's eye chili
- 500 gms (1.11 lbs) ground beef
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 60 mls (0.25 cup) water
- 1 cup Thai basil leaves
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Crush and mince the garlic cloves and chilies together with a mortar and pestle or by hand.
- Add the garlic and chili mixture to the hot oil and stir-fry until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the ground beef to the wok and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Mix well.
- Pour in the water and cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.
- Add the Thai basil leaves and stir-fry until wilted, about 1 minute.
- Serve hot with steamed jasmine rice and top with a fried egg, if desired.
