Spicy Korean Grilled Mackerel (Godeungeo Gui)

Ingredients
- 4 Mackerel fillets
- 240 mls (1 cup) Soy sauce
- 3 tbsps Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
- 2 tbsps Sugar
- 2 Minced garlic cloves
- 2 tbsps Sesame oil
- 2 Green onions stalks
- 1 tbsp Toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, Gochujang, sugar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and chopped green onions to make the marinade.
- Place the mackerel fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure each fillet is coated well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated mackerel fillets for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the grilled mackerel before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
- This dish is best served with steamed rice and Kimchi.
