Korean BBQ Beef Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients
- 500 gms (1.11 lbs) beef sirloin
- 60 mls (0.25 cup) soy sauce
- 2 tbsps brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 garlic cloves
- 3 green onions
- 2 tsps sesame seeds
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 12 butter lettuce leaves
- 1 cucumber
- 1 carrot
Instructions
- Thinly slice the beef sirloin into strips.
- In a large bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes to create the marinade.
- Add the beef strips to the marinade, making sure they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat (about 175°C / 350°F).
- Cook the marinated beef strips for about 2-3 minutes on each side until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Prepare the butter lettuce leaves by washing and patting them dry.
- Slice the cucumber and carrot into thin matchstick strips.
- To assemble, place a few strips of cooked beef onto each butter lettuce leaf, add cucumber and carrot strips.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Marinate the beef for at least 2 hours for best flavor
- Can be served with kimchi on the side
