  • 4 tbsps mayonnaise
  • 4 tbsps ketchup
  • 4 potatoes
  • 480 mls (2 cups) vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Season the ground beef with salt and black pepper, then form it into 4 equal-sized patties.
  3. Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach the desired level of doneness.
  4. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking, and allow it to melt.
  5. While the patties are cooking, slice the potatoes into thin strips for fries.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry the potato strips in batches for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, and sprinkle with salt.
  8. Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1 minute until slightly browned.
  9. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, then add lettuce, tomato, onion, mayonnaise, and ketchup.
  10. Serve the cheeseburgers hot with a side of freshly made French fries.
