Beef Teriyaki with Steamed Rice

Ingredients
- 500 gms (1.11 lbs) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 120 mls (0.5 cup) soy sauce
- 60 mls (0.25 cup) sake
- 60 mls (0.25 cup) mirin
- 3 tbsps sugar
- 2 tsps garlic, minced
- 2 tsps ginger, grated
- 2 tbsps vegetable oil
- 4 steamed white rice
- 2 tsps sesame seeds (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sake, mirin, and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced beef to the pan and cook until browned on all sides, about 3-5 minutes.
- Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef in the pan. Stir and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Serve the beef teriyaki hot over steamed white rice.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.

- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar to the sauce
