Ingredients
- 500 gms (1.11 lbs) ground beef
- 8 taco shells
- 1 onion
- 3 tomatoes
- 1 jalapeno
- 120 mls (0.5 cup) fresh cilantro
- 1 lime
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.25 tsp pepper
- 100 gms (0.22 lb) cheddar cheese
- 100 mls (0.42 cup) sour cream
Instructions
- Chop the onion, tomatoes, and jalapeno finely. Chop the cilantro.
- In a bowl, mix the tomatoes, half of the chopped onion, jalapeno, cilantro. Squeeze lime juice over the mixture and add salt to taste to make the salsa.
- In a pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat until brown. Drain the grease.
- Add the remaining onion, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to the beef. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the onion is soft.
- Warm the taco shells as per the package instructions.
- Assemble the tacos by placing the beef mixture into the shells, followed by salsa, cheese, and a dollop of sour cream.
