Ingredients

  • 450 gms (1 lb) Beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 480 mls (2 cups) Broccoli florets
  • 240 mls (1 cup) Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsps Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 Garlic, minced cloves
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsps Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes to make the sauce.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add beef slices and stir-fry until browned.
  4. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve hot over steamed rice.

Notes

  • You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu for a different variation
  • Make sure to not overcook the broccoli to retain its crunchiness
